The abundance of Qi at the full moon has many powerful effects in nature - exceptional tidal variations in the oceans are one example of this. Human beings are an integral part of nature too, so no surprise that many of us notice strong Qi effects at the full moon.
At each full moon the global Ren Xue community has a coordinated theme for our practice around that time. This year we will be using the full moon Qi field to work on some of the ten fundamental patterns. Unhealthy patterns confine us in a very small space. They make us feel so 'natural' and comfortable in this small space, thinking that is all there is, just like a fish in a fishbowl. Transforming them into healthier patterns creates more freedom and space for life.
The next full moon is Tuesday, 25 September, and the theme is 'Gongjing'. Make the most of the strong Qi and information at full moon by joining our group Qi healing session at 3 York St, 7.30 - 8.30pm. $10 casual or $7 with a 10 concession card. Please RSVP to Ollie: 027 342 0957
Gongjing is one of the 5 essential qualities of the heart. Put simply, it can be translated as deep respect and humility, yet it also encompasses the qualities of trust, openness, love and gratitude.
"Gongjing is a state of being. It is a natural quality of a healthy state of life and comes from a true understanding that everything is a manifestation of the laws of the universe, or Dao, and that everything and everyone is equal and valuable and is part of the whole. Each individual human life is both part of the whole and one with the whole. I had full Gongjing for my teachers, not because they were perfect – it was quite clear to me that they had their limitations – but because that was how I should behave as a human being. I also have Gongjing for a tree, and it is the same Gongjing. There should be no distinction. We should have the same Gongjing towards dog shit.
Having Gongjing and the humility that is part of it does not put a person in an inferior position in any way. Nature does not make distinctions; everything is a manifestation of the laws of the universe and is natural. It is humans who make judgments on what is superior or inferior, and we do this out of ignorance. There is no need to be affected by such judgments. When we are in the state of Gongjing, we do not lose anything; we only gain. Through having this quality we benefit ourselves more than anyone or anything else." Yuan Tze
